JORHAT: Three youths from Upper Assam have come up with an app named ‘TipTeapi’ which can be a nice reply of India to the globally popular app ‘Tik Tok’.

 

The application is fully free and is available in the Google Play Store which is available for users in some other countries along with India was launched on Saturday at Jorhat Press Club.

 

 

 

The app ‘TipTeapi’ has been developed by three youths namely Saswati Kotoky from Dergaon, Amarjyoti Gautam a resident of Jorhat, and Himanga Madhukalya of Dibrugarh district, all MCA PG degree holders from the Jorhat Engineering college which works exactly like Tik Tok, which is currently banned in India.

The video playing and sharing app Tip Teapi have been developed primarily for entertainment purpose and it is safe and secure having privacy protection, unlike Chinese apps.

 

 

 

Saswati, who is in charge of sales, marketing, HR, and legal, stated that they have introduced the application with an objective to providing people with a platform where people can showcase their talents and skills in numerous categories like music, art, drama, cooking, science and education and, many more. There are 12 categories in total.

 

 

 

Similar to TikTok in this app also one can make friends, follow, like and comment, and share videos through other social media sites. At the same time, if one uploads any objectionable material and they received complaints from users or viewers, they will look into any such matters and would delete videos if required.

 

 

 

Developers stated that they had also sought help from an alumnus of a JEC, based in the US who provided them an amount of Rs 10 lakh funding to set up the start-up.

 

They said it took them around six months to develop the application and they have also plans to release the app outside India as well.
