KOHIMA: A Baptist Church in Nagaland's Jalukie under Peren district was burnt down in a fire suspected to have been emitted through an electrical short circuit rendering the entire Church building with properties therein damaged

Yesterday, around 2:00 am, the Old Jalukie Sector-B Baptist Church building was completely devastated by the fire.

The incident was apparently verified by the district administration, police, and the general public.

Cash and properties amounting to approximately Rupees 12 lakh were lost and destroyed in the unfortunate incident.

In this connection, the headman of old Jalukie village has lodged an FIR to the officer-in-charge of Peren police station and has also written to the administration through the ADC of Jalukie to extend instant relief to the church under disaster management fund or any other related fund with adequately compensation to construct a new place of worship for the villagers.
