Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, the king of controversy, has once again found himself on the receiving end of criticism for making derogatory remarks against the Congress party. The Chief Minister recently said that the Congress party was a ‘party of traitors’ and also dubbed the party as ‘anti-Tripura’ and further branded the Congress party the ‘band of Shiatan’. Deb made these statements after the return of former Congress member Subal Bhowmik to the rival party.
He also alleged that there existed an “unholy nexus” between the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) at the Centre, due to which the Left Front Government managed to be in power for 25 years in Tripura.
The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Friday asked Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in public for using objectionable term ‘band of Satan’ while speaking against the Congress party.
The TPCC categorically criticized the CM for his language and said that such behavior of the leaders who hold high positions are not acceptable.
The Congress party also asked Deb to prove his false allegations or seek an apology from the opposition and Subal Bhowmik, who recently left the BJP and joined Congress.
