AIZAWL: For the first time in Mizoram's history, the 1st Chapchar Awllen Sava Chhiarpui 2021 (CASC2021) was organized by Conservation Mizoram with the collaboration of Sailam Ecological Conservation Society. Iy was held at Sailam bird sanctuary in Mizoram.

 

More than 30 persons from Aizawl and several other places participated in the event.

 

On the occasion, the counting of birds was held from early morning till noon.

 

As per reports, there are more than 160 different varieties of birds, as counted by bird watchers.

 

Birds like chesnut bunting, green cochoa, redface liocichla, rofuous throated hill patridge were spotted by the bird spotters today.

 

It needs mention here that the Sailam bird sanctuary has recorded more than 270 different varieties of birds in the past.

 

Phawngpui photographers' association, lawngtlai at paithar hills, and others were also a part of the historic event (either alone or in groups).
