BJP leader La Ganesan new Governor of Manipur

IMPHAL: President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed La Ganesan as the new Governor of the state of Manipur. The new governor is a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Reportedly, he was a Pracharak in RSS before being appointed as the General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu BJP unit. La Ganesan also served as the National Secretary and then as the Vice President of BJP at the National level.

La Ganeshan was a former Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He had replaced the former Union Minister Najma Heptulla as a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh.
