Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday hinted at reshuffling of his cabinet this month.
“Hope there will be a Cabinet reshuffle this month, let’s see,” the Chief Minister quipped. He was talking to media on the sideline of the World Environment Day event at Ukhrul, 84 km north of Imphal.
Mr. Singh made it a point that when NDA came back to power at the centre after the Lok Sabha elections almost 40% of the ministers in the previous government were dropped from the ministry.
Though the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has threatened to pull out of the government in Manipur, alleging “indifferent attitude” of the BJP leadership, Manipur CM asserted that the alliance with NPF will continue following its support in the formation of NDA government at the Centre.
BJP-led coalition came to power in Manipur on March 15, 2017. The BJP won 21 out of 60 seats in the Manipur assembly and four NPF legislators apart from four National People’s Party legislators extended their supports to the government.
