The members of the Kolkata Assamese Cultural Association (KACA) showcased the rich culture of Assam at Kolkata. The prestigious Madhusudan Mancha in the heart of Kolkata reverberated with the sound of “Dhol-Pepa-Gogona” with the attendance of hundreds of spectators and several media persons. The programme started with a ‘Mukoli Bihu’ by the members.
The President of Kolkata Assamese Cultural Association Mr Dipakananda Bharali gave the opening address in which he highlighted the contributions of KACA towards the assamese people living in Kolkata. Emiment folk artist Padmashree Mr Purnadas Baul was felicitated in the function. Many other artist and literary persons were also felicitated.
The annual magazine of KACA “Sristi” edited by Ratul Bezbaruah was released in the event by eminent journalist Mr. Tamal Kanti Ghosh. The event went successfully to spread the culture of Assam among the people.
