LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh government authorized cinema halls, multiplexes, gyms, and stadiums to reopen from Monday, citing a decrease in new COVID-19 cases in the state.
According to the official, “the COVID infection in Uttar Pradesh is under control policy of aggressive tracing, testing, rapid treatment, and rapid immunization. Multiplexes, cinema halls, gyms, and sports complexes/stadiums are now permitted to operate under the COVID protocol. COVID has had a negative impact on the movie theatre industry.”
The official statement adds, "relief should be provided in consideration of their needs/problems."
The decision was made during a review meeting with Team-9 on Sunday, which was hosted by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In the last 24 hours, Uttar Pradesh has recorded 128 new COVID-19 cases and 305 recoveries.
Meanwhile, the state government reports that there are 2,264 active COVID cases in the state.
The COVID recovery rate has increased to 98.5 percent, while the positive rate has decreased to 0.06 percent.
