Several injured as civilians clash with army inside Shillong cantonment

SHILLONG: A few civilians and army personnel clashed here last night over some disputes between the two sides at Gorkha Training Centre, Shillong.

As per sources, the clash took place when the army sentry had stopped a few drunken civilians as they were overspreading inside the cantonment road. But the civilians refused to obey and the clash broke out.

All the civilians are known to be Khasi.

In the clash, both sides have injured themselves. Further details are awaited.

The Meghalaya government has imposed a night curfew applicable since last night itself along with some fresh new guidelines.
