NEW DELHI: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday tested positive for covid 19. CM Rupani has tested for the novel coronavirus after he fainted on stage on Sunday while addressing an election rally for upcoming civic polls in the Nizampura area of Vadodara and was flown to Ahmedabad for treatment.

 

CM Rupani is undergoing treatment UN Mehta hospital in Ahmedabad. However, the CM is now stable. All his medical check-up reports including electrocardiogram (ECG) and CT scan are normal.

 

According to report, a health bulletin issued by the hospital stated that his sample for Covid was collected on Sunday night and sent for RT-PCR test which has come out positive for coronavirus.

In a tweet on Monday CM Rupani sharing the report said that he tested positive for Covid 19 and appealed to all those who came in contact with him in the last few days to voluntarily undergo Covid test as part of precaution.

 

Six municipal corporations in Gujarat, including Vadodara, will hold elections on February 21 while polls for municipalities, districts, and taluka panchayats will be held on February 28.
