Imphal, April 15, 2020:

A 24-year-old nurse from Manipur has tested positive for COVID-19 in Delhi. According to reports, she is a staff of Max Lab, Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket (West Block), New Delhi.

Her throat/nasal swab was collected on Monday and the results showed that she is positive for COVID-19 (SARS CoV-2).

All the family members who were staying together with the COVID-19 patient have been quarantined and waiting to get tested for the coronavirus.

It may be mentioned here that as coronavirus cases increase across the country, India has decided to go into the second phase of lockdown with the strictest guidelines. Barring essential services, all other movements and services will be monitored strictly.

A doctor and a non-medical staff of Max Hospital at Saket have also tested positive for COVID-19. In a statement, Max Hospital at Saket in south Delhi claimed that there is "no chance" that they have contracted the disease from the Hospital.

"So far, three hospital staffers have tested positive -- a doctor, a nurse, and one non-medical staff. All of them are recovering," the hospital said in a statement.

It needs mention here that recently, two patients who were admitted for cardiac treatment at Max Hospital had tested positive for COVID-19. Thirty-nine healthcare workers, who were contact traced, have been quarantined within a separate and isolated wing at Max Hospital, Saket.

It is pertinent to mention that Manipur's first COVID-19 patient has recovered. There is one active case in the Northeastern state.

Coronavirus cases in India have reached 11,439 as on Wednesday. 38 deaths and 1,076 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. Currently, there are 9,756 active cases, and 1,306 cured/discharged/migrated.
