COVID-19: Sikkim reports 289 more cases; 3 deaths

GANGTOK: Sikkim registered 289 new Covid-19 cases from the 1717 samples tested on Wednesday.

The district-wise Covid load is 136 cases in the east district, 90 cases in the west district, 49 cases in the south district and 14 in the north district.

The State’s active Covid tally is now 4184 cases, said the Health Department on Thursday.

Three more deaths were reported, all taking place at STNM hospital. So far in these first three days of June, 10 persons have been claimed by coronavirus.

The State’s Covid death toll since last year is 263.

Meanwhile, 205 persons successfully recovered from coronavirus on Wednesday. At present, there are 223 Covid patients admitted in hospitals here – STNM hospital (152), Mangan hospital (14) and CRH Manipal (57). Among them, 34 patients are in the ICU.
