AGARTALA: Tripura reportedly set the record of administering COVID-19 vaccines to over 53,000 people in a single day.
Reportedly, 53,074 people were vaccinated in the state on Thursday.
Out of the total number, 48,100 were of the 18-44 age group while the rest were above 45 years.
As per the data released by state National Health Mission, a total of 17,90,605 doses of vaccines have been administered in the state till June 17.

48 percent of the estimated population have been given the first dose while a total of 5,26,689 have administered with the second dose of vaccine.
Till date, 1,74,465 people of 18-44 age group have been vaccinated in the state, NHM Tripura stated.
The state, so far, has recorded 60, 872 cases of COVID-19 with 4873 active cases. While 55768 have recovered from the infection, a total of 634 succumbed to the virus.
The Tripura government bad earlier extended the curfew in six urban local bodies of the state including the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) till June 18 to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
