NEW DELHI: As many as 17,282 people have been tested COVID positive in Delhi over the past 24 hours, according to data released in 9 pm tonight.

This is the largest rise on a single day since the pandemic broke out last year.

A total of 104 people have died over the past 24 hours, according to the Delhi health department. The cumulative number of people killed in the national capital has now risen to 11,540. Around the same time, 7,67,438 people in the city state have been infected, with 7,05,162 people surviving the infection.

On Tuesday, 13,468 new cases were detected with 81 patients dying.

Elsewhere, the Maharashtra government has enforced lockdown-like restrictions in the state from 8 pm today. Only critical services will be permitted in the state for the next 15 days, according to sources.

Maharashtra (35,19,208 cases), Kerala (11,72,882), Karnataka (10,74,869), Tamil Nadu (9,40,145) and Andhra Pradesh (9,28,664) are the five states with the most cases.
