DIMAPUR: After four girl hostellers tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland's Dimapur Government College, the college announced a closure beginning tomorrow and a wait for online classes will begin.

Five girls' hostellers were sent to the Civil Hospital Dimapur for COVID test after showing suspicious COVID symptoms, out of the five girls, four tested positive for the virus following which the entire girl hostellers were restricted to the hostel as a precautionary measure.

Four infected students were sent to a COVID hospital in Chumukedima.

Five more girls who were in contact with the positive patients were isolated and will be tested tomorrow.

Based on the test results, it will be decided whether or not to seal the entire college.

The college is following the chief minister's office's instructions, and as of now, only the girls' hostel has been sealed.

The principal stated that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the college is preparing to resume online classes once approval comes from the government

The principal asked teachers and staff to stay at station and advised students not to come to college from Monday, but to wait for online classes to begin.
