DIMAPUR: In view of the ongoing board exams, the Dimapur Sumi Students' Union (DSSU) has urged the Nagaland power department to provide the Dimapur city with uninterrupted power supply.
Citing the power instability, DSSU President L. Kivipu Shohe and General Secretary N.K. Muga Ai resented that ever since the 10th and 12th board exams have been announced, frequent power cuts have been witnessed in Dimapur, which is also the business hub of the state.

The students’ body also urged the power department to give priority to the students' problem and restore normal power supply in the city immediately.
The students' are the worst affected due to frequent power cuts as their preparation for the board exams have been severely hampered.
Nagaland is the lowest generator of electricity in the country. It spends over 250 crore annually to buy power from others.
The state generates lowest electricity despite having potential sites for hydropower generation.
