Gangtok, May 10, 2019:

Challenging all physical disability, Bikram Bhattarai, a student of Sama Government Secondary school in East Sikkim scored 72% in the CBSE class 10 board examination 2019 who wrote his exam using his feet.

16-year-old Bikram was born to Januka and Narpati Bhattarai of Sama Lingdum village, without hands but he carries an incredible array of activities using his feet as his hands, which might seem difficult for others.

Bikram who wants to become an electrical engineer said, “I am happy with the marks which I scored in board exam.”

Expressing happiness, the father, Narpati Bhattarai said he would help his son achieve his dream against all odds. He further mentioned that Bikram never lost confidence because of his physical challenges. People in the village taunted us for giving birth to a child without hands saying it’s a bad omen and would bring bad luck to our family, but the same people now don’t stop appreciating Bikram’s skill.

Bikram was conferred with the National Child Achievement Award by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare in 2010.

Not only writing, but Bikram uses his feet for day-to-day activities like eating, bathing, using mobile and laptop, brushing, painting.
