Drugs recovered in pre-Republic Day frisking ops in Manipur

Guwahati, January 14, 2019:

Due to the tightened security measures ahead of Republic Day on January 26^th, a routine frisking and checking was carried out along Phaitol village area yesterday.

The checking was carried out along National Highway 37 by teams of Civil Police and STF, Jiribam led by Sub-Inspector T. Rameshwor Singh, Sub-Inspector Y. Lekesden Singh, nd Assistant sub-inspector A. Krishna Sharma.

A cruiser bearing registration number AS-11CC 8578 was stopped at 4:30 pm and 2 kgs 135 gms of substance suspected to be brown sugar was recovered from Mrs. Dilijan (38). She was accompanied by her husband, Abdul Hamid.

Both the husband and wife have been handed over to the police for illegal possession of drugs.
