Drugs worth Rs. 5 crores seized in Manipur!

Guwahati, January 25 2019:

In yet another drug-related incident, Manipur police have nabbed drugs worth a whopping five crore rupees!

Acting on the basis of specific information, officers of the anti-smuggling unit, Customs Division, Imphal, led by the Superintendent (A/S) seized 50,000 amphetamine tablets having marking of ‘WY’ (‘world is yours’) from the possession of Lalhming Thanga (42). The total value of the drugs is estimated at 5 crores.

The suspect was nabbed at Chingmerong near MBC drugs while trying to deliver the contraband items.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotics, Drugs and Psycotropic Substances Act.
