Former Chief Minister of Manipur, Okram Ibobi Singh, has criticised the State Government for not agreeing to call a special session of the Manipur assembly to reaffirm to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur in the face of the 'Naga Peace Talks'.
Taking a dig at the Manipur politicians, Okram Ibobi Singh has said, "If one is not bothered about the integrity of Manipur, and feels that let it be broken, then there is no point of us being MLAs, Ministers, CMs or representative of the people, it's just like selling our state."

Casting suspicion over the beefing up of security in Manipur, he said, "Assam rifles, BSF and other paramilitary forces are being brought in the state and saying that they are just returning from election duties from Haryana is just misguiding and misinformation to the people. This kind of cheating is very unfortunate."
Ibobi further said that he has requested the Government to call for a special session repeatedly, but they are not listening to to the opposition. "As we are in opposition, we cannot call special session, as they are in power. It seems the present Government is very afraid of of the Central Government. I fear the Central Government is planning to do something, and if the state govt takes any decision against it, they may lose their power. They should serve people courageously, firmly", he added.
