NEW DELHI: The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), a coalition of protesting farmer unions, has called for Bharat bandh tomorrow from 6 am to 6 pm to protest against the center's decision to privatise the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) and its farm rules.
For nearly four months, farmers have been protesting at Delhi's borders against the Centre's three new farm laws.
According to reports, during the bandh, all road and rail transport, markets and other public places will be closed across the country. The union body has also appealed to the country’s people to make this Bharat Bandh a success and honour their 'Annadata'."

For over four months, thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh, have camped at the Delhi border points of Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur, demanding the repeal of farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.
Buta Singh Burjgill, a farmer leader, had previously stated that on March 26, when their four-month-long protest against the three farm laws comes to an end, they will observe a full Bharat bandh.
Farmers' leaders have further stated that copies of the new farm laws will be burned on March 28 during the ‘Holika Dahan.'
