Forces recover arms, ammunition

In the ongoing cordon and search operation (CASO) operation carried out by security forces ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, 83 persons – 22 female and 61 male – without proper identity proof were picked up from Golapati. They were all handed over to Porompat Police Station.

Meanwhile, during the CASO conducted by the Indian Army and Assam Rifles, one .303 rifle with magazine, five pistols with five magazines, one revolver, four CHG, 12 gelatin sticks, two detonators, wire and 14 9mm RDS were also recovered from Kumbi Seitapur.

The arms and arms ammunition were handed over to Kumbi Police Station.
