KOHIMA: Kiphire district of Nagaland has ranked second in the ranking of aspirational districts by National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog’s Delta for the month of January 2021.
Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said on twitter, “Very heartening to see 4 #AspirationalDistricts of North-East with challenging geographies, in top 5! Nawada in Bihar secured the top position in the latest delta rankings. The district has made huge strides in increasing its water table, increasing micro-irrigation coverage, and improving infrastructure in schools.

The NITI Aayog is a policy think tank of the Government of India, established with the aim to achieve sustainable development goals with cooperative federalism by fostering the involvement of State Governments of India in the economic policy-making process using a bottom-up approach.
The ranking of aspirational districts is done every month.
