SHILLONG: Two government offices of Ri Bhoi district in Meghalaya have been shut down temporarily after staff members found COVID-19 positive.
This two offices include Byrnihat Police Outpost and Umden Primary Health Centre.
The purpose behind shutting down two of the offices was to facilitate the health officials in conducting contact racing and sanitising noth of the office premises in terms of contain the risk of spreading of the virus.

The state of Meghalaya has reported 627 fresh COVID-19 positive cases and 12 fatalies over the past 24 hours.
The state has 4,014 COVID active cases overall.
Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, yesterday the state government had decided to extend lockdown in East Khasi hills till
May 24.
The state has started a free vaccination program for the 18 to 44 year age group of the stae from yesterday as well.
