IMPHAL: Troopers of Assam Rifles have recovered a huge consignment of contraband valued at Rs 1.26 crores, and apprehended suspected drug peddlers from the Churachandpur district of Manipur.
The seized contraband includes 390 grams of heroin, 8.96 kilos of opium, and 396 WIY tablets, which were later handed over to police.
"#AssamRifles in Manipur apprehended four drug peddlers from Churachandpur district recovering contraband worth approx. Rs 1.26 Crores. Apprehendees & recovered contraband which included 390 grams of Heroin, 8.96 kg of Opium & 396 WIY tablets were handed over to Police," Assam rifles tweeted after making the seizure.
Investigations are currently underway.
