Heroin valued at Rs 34.6 lakh recovered in Mizoram; one drug peddler held

AIZWAL: One person has arrested by the Assam Rifles for possession of heroin in Mizoram.

The seized heroin was recovered from Dawrpui Bazar in Aizwal yesterday.

Troopers of Assam rifles recovered the heroin worth Rs 34.6 Lakh in a joint operation with the officials of Excise and Narcotics Department.

“#AssamRifles troops in Mizoram jointly with Excise & Narcotics Department apprehended a drug peddler from Dawrpui Bazar(Aizwal) on 30 Mar recovering Heroin worth approx. Rs 34.6 Lakhs,” Assam rifles tweeted after making the seizure.

Earlier this week, heroin worth Rs 42.3 lakh was recovered by the Assam Rifles from the Bawngkawn Shalom Venglai area on Sunday and apprehended two persons.
