AGARTALA: A hospital in Tripura has once again suspended its outdoor services for 72 hours since Friday after a sudden rise in positive COVID-19 cases among the hospital staff in the past 48 hours.

 

West Tripura district magistrate Dr. Shailesh Kumar Yadav had also issued a notice in this regard.

 

The notice read: "The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the staff of Tripura Medical College and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, Hapania, Tripura has unexpectedly increased within two days (18-19, 2021)."

The routine Outpatient Department (OPD) Services in the hospital shall remain closed for 72 hours that is from 6 pm today.

 

However, emergency and trauma cases along with indoor patients services would be available.

 

Furthermore, in association with the chief medical officer of the West Tripura district, the hospital authorities were asked to test all the doctors and staff members and to sanitise the hospital premises.

 

The state reported a total of nine positive cases on Friday after the 'zero' COVID-19 cases in the past few days. Of the total of 33,366 COVID-19 cases, 388 patients died, as per the health department report.
