India logs 80,834 new Covid cases, active cases decline by 54,000; 3,303 deaths

NEW DELHI: India has recorded 80,834 new Covid-19 cases and 3,303 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to union health ministry.

The number of active cases has decreased by 54,531 bringing the total number of current cases to 10,26,159.

In the last 24 hours, 1,32,062 patients have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,80,43,446 across the country.

Tamil Nadu has the most cases with 15,108, followed by Kerala with 13,832, Maharashtra with 10,697, Karnataka with 9,785 and Andhra Pradesh with 6,952.

These five states reported for at least 69.74 percent of new cases, with Tamil Nadu alone accounting for 18.69 percent of new cases.

Maharashtra had the most deaths wih 1,966 followed by Tamil Nadu with 374 daily deaths.

In the last 24 hours, India has administered a total of 34,84,239 doses, bringing the total number of doses provided to 25,31,95,048.
