NEW DELHI: India reported 120,529 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours which the lowest number since April 7, bringing the total number of cases to 28,694,879.
Today is the 47th day in a row that the government has reported over 2,000 daily Covid deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with 3,380 new fatalities the death toll has now reached 344,082. It is still the second-worst-affected country.

The rate of recovery surpassed 93 percent.
On Friday, Tamil Nadu had the largest number of new cases in the country with 22,651, followed by Kerala (16,229), Karnataka (16,068), Maharashtra (14,152), and Andhra Pradesh (10,413).
No other state recorded a five-digit increase in new cases. Tamil Nadu had the highest death toll with 463 people dying from the infection on Friday.
The death toll in Karnataka has dropped to 364, down from 514 on Thursday.
