NEW DELHI: India has recorded 1,32,364 new cases and 2,713 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry.
The number of new infections has been steadily declining for the past seven days, with no cases exceeding 200,000 mark.
With 132,364 new COVID-19 infections, the caseload now stands at 28,574,350.

The rate of test positives is 6.3 percent. Deaths, on the other hand have not decreased in proportion.
Today is the 45th day in a row that the country has reported over 2,000 daily Covid deaths.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with 2,713 new fatalities, the death toll has now reached 340,702 people. It is still the second-worst-affected country.
Tamil Nadu leads the way with 24,405 cases, followed by Kerala 18,853 cases, Karnataka with 18,324 ceses, Maharashtra with 15,229 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 11,421 cases. Maharashtra also had the highest number of daily fatalities with 643.
Maharashtra (5,776,184), Karnataka (26,35,122), Kerala (2,584,853), Tamil Nadu (2,172,751), and Andhra Pradesh (1,728,577) are the six states with the most cases.
