NEW DELHI: India reported 60,471 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, the lowest daily spike in 75 days, according to data from the health ministry.
The overall number of coronavirus cases in the country has now reached 2,95,70,881.
The country reported 2,726 deaths in the last 24 hours, bringong total number of deaths has risen to 3,77,031.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases has increased to 9,13,378.
After 66 days, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India has dropped to 1 million from around 3.72 million at the peak of the second wave. Weekly positivity rate reduces to less than 5 percent, currently at 4.39 percent, as recovery rate rises to 95.64 percent. According to the Ministry of Health, the daily positive rate is 3.45 percent with less than 5 percent for the past eight days.
Tamil Nadu had the most new infections with 12,772, followed by Maharashtra with 8,129, Kerala with 7,719, Karnataka with 6,835, Andhra Pradesh with 4,549, Delhi with 131 and West Bengal with 3,519.
Maharashtra (5,917,121), Karnataka (2,771,969), Kerala (2,735,958), Tamil Nadu (2,366,493), Andhra Pradesh (1,814,393) are the five states with the most cases.
