The Centre has advised people to follow COVID-19 guidelines and directed states to take all possible measures to control the spread of the infection in all work and public areas.
The Union home ministry (MHA) has also issued a fresh set of guidelines earlier this week due to the recent surge in their COVID disease cases.
States and UTs may consider disciplinary measures, including the application of reasonable fines, for strict enforcement of the wearing of face masks, hand grooming, and social distancing, the order said.
These protocols will come into effect on April 1 and will be in effect until April 30.
Furthermore, the Centre plans to extend the reach of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign by adding more demographic groups, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Friday, days after anyone over the age of 45 was made liable to be vaccinated starting April 1.
However, according to reports, people in different parts of the country are getting infected with the virus even after receiving the vaccination against the virus.
One person in Assam’s Jorhat has already died due to the virus infection days after receiving the vaccination. Several others are stated to be under treatment at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital.
