NEW DELHI: India's daily spike of coronavirus cases remained below 3 lakh for the second time in nearly 26 days with only 2,63,533 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.
During the 24-hour period, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare reported 4,329 new Covid-related deaths in the country and 4,22,436 new recoveries.

There are 2,52,28,996 cases in total, with 2,15,96,512 recoveries, 33,53,765 active cases and 2,78,719 deaths.
Up until May 17, a total of 31,82,92,881 samples were tested for COVID-19, with 18,69,223 samples tested on Monday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
COVID-19 vaccine doses have now been distributed to a total of 18,44,53,149 people throughout the country.
