NEW DELHI: India for the first time in two months reported a total of 3,56,082 recoveries in the past 24 hours, pushing the tally of recovery to 1,90,27,304.
Meanwhile, 3,29,942 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported during the period. With the fresh cases the country's COVID caseload has reached 2,29,92,517.
This is the first time in nearly two months that India has seen more recoveries in a single day than new cases recorded.
The death toll of India has climbed up to 2,49,992 with 3,876 daily deaths, according to the health ministry data.

The country currently has 37,15,221 active cases.
Karnataka (39,305 cases), Maharashtra (37,236), Tamil Nadu (28,978), Kerala (27,487), and Uttar Pradesh (21,277 cases) account for 46.7 percent of all new COVID cases, with Karnataka alone accounting for 11.91 percent of all new cases.
Moreover, according to the health ministry, 10 states account for over 72.8 per cent of the new deaths.
Through fast customs clearances and the use of air and road transportation, the Centre is ensuring that global aid reaches states and UTs as soon as possible.
According to the ministry, 6,738 oxygen concentrators, 3,856 oxygen cylinders, 16 oxygen generation plants, 4,668 ventilators/ Bi PAP/ C PAP, and more than 3L Remdesivir vials were delivered or dispatched to states and UTs as part of global aid to India to augment and complement their infrastructure.
