TOKYO: The Indian Women's Hockey team was defeated 3-4 by Great Britain in today's bronze medal match at Oi Hockey Stadium —North Pitch.
With the defeat, India's Women's Hockey team finished fourth at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, while Great Britain won their third consecutive Olympic medal.

India stunned Great Britain with three goals in five minutes, scored by Gurjit Kaur (25th, 26th minutes) and Vandana Katariya (29th).
The British, however, managed to win kudos to four goals from Elena Rayer (16th), Sarah Riobertson (24th), skipper Hollie Pearne-Webb (35th), and Grace Baldson (48th).
Following the Indian women's hockey team's outstanding performance at the Tokyo Olympics, the Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday announced a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh for each of the state's nine daughters who are members of the team.
On the other hand, the Men's Hockey team on Thursday rewrote history by winning an Olympic medal for the first time in 41 years, defeating Germany 5-4 in a thrilling play-off match.
