Jerusalem: Israel has experienced the highest rate of rocket attacks on its territory ever, during the current conflict with the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas which dominates Gaza, according to the army.
According to Major General Ori Gordin, armed groups in Gaza have fired around 3,000 rockets at Israel since Monday, surpassing the rate seen during an escalation in 2019 and the 2006 war with Lebanon's Hezbollah.

According to the sources, Mr. Gordin, the leader of Israel's home front showed a graph depicting the number of rockets fired at Israel in recent years and now.
570 rockets were fired from Gaza towards Israel over three days in November 2019 during an escalation between the army and the Islamic Jihad group.
According to the data Mr. Gordin shared, a total of 4,500 rockets were fired at Israel over the course of 19 days during the 2006 war with Iran-backed Hezbollah.
According to officials on both sides, the week-long escalation was caused by violence in Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem and has resulted in 181 casualties in the heavily populated Gaza Strip and 10 in Israel.
