Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has removed James Sangma as the state’s home (police) minister and gave Lahkmen Rymbai the charges of the same.

According to reports, Sangma took this decision following the allegations levelled against his brother, James about his involvement in corruption.

James Sangma, after the rejig, has the portfolios of power, taxation, food & civil supplies, information and public relations.

The new minister of home (police), Lakhmen Rymbai has forest & environment, border area development and education departments.

Alexander Laloo Hek retains health & family welfare department. The minister also has home (jail) and home (passport), arts & culture departments.

Minister Hamletson Dohling has been given the responsibility of district council affairs, urban affairs, municipal administration and information technology departments.

It may be mentioned here that on January 6, Minister James Sangma misbehaved with journalists. He is yet to apologize for his behavior.
