SRINAGAR: As many as five army personnel including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were martyred in a fierce gun battle with terrorists during an anti-insurgency operation in Pooch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Two terrorists were killed during the encounter.
Reportedly, the team launched an operation in the the early hours in a village not far from DKG in Surankote following inputs about the presence of terrorists. Reports suggested the presence of a group of heavily-armed terrorists in Chamrer forest after they managed to sneak from across the Line of Control (LoC).

according to reports, the ultras opened heavy fire on the search parties leaving them severely injured to the officials.
Reportedly, reinforcements have been sent to the area to block all ways to escape so that the terrorists can be neutralized.
