Gangtok, September 9, 2019:

A team from Ladakh led Dorje Angchok President, BJP, Leh-Ladakh is on tour to Sikkim to understand the set up in Sikkim so that they can adopt in their newly formed Union Territory.

The team comprises of all the stakeholders including from various fields.

During their 4 day-long visits, the team interacted with the bureaucrats of the state and appreciated how Article 371 F has protected the Sikkimese people and land.

After their visit to Sikkim, they have made their mind to make similar types of provisions to safeguard their Union Territory, once they start formulating the set for Union Territory.

The team is trying to understand the modalities.

Ladakh is a region administered by India, located in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent, and a part of the larger region of Kashmir, which has been the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China since 1947.

In August 2019, the Parliament of India passed an act by which Ladakh will become a union territory on 31 October 2019.
