Kohima: The Act of Kindness Society on Oct 25th successfully concluded the Magnum Opus VI, a virtual Art & Music Festival by Live streaming on their Facebook and Instagram to announce the Winners. The aim of the event is to honour, promote and provide artists with ample avenues to create a change.

A total of 48 participants registered for Short Story Writing Competition, out of which 47 submitted their work on time.

The winners for the writing competition are:

1st – Renu Thapa for the story titled, Kai, My Child ( Rs 5,000)

2nd – Rite-u Tsuhah Mero for the story titled, The Old Factory (Rs 2000)

2 Consolation Winners-

Moali Pongen for the story titled, A Cup of Tea

Longjenthi Longkumer for the story titled, A City of Stories.

For Art Illustrated Short Story & Painting competition, a total of 51 participants registered out of which only 26 participants submitted their work on time for painting competition and 11 for Art Illustrated Short Story Competiton.

Art Illustrated Short Story Competition Winners are:

1st – Mannyei Phom (Rs 8,000)

2nd – Yanpothung Y Shitio (Rs 4,000)

Painting Competition Competition winners:

1st – Joyce Ao (Titled- “Anxiety Attack”), Rs 10,000

2nd – Chichanbeni Kithan ( Titled- “To Belong”), Rs 5,000

A total of 24 Participants registered for Original Song Competiton.

The winner, Chubatemsu Kichu, who won Rs 10,000 packed with Audio & Video Recording Contract. The winner will be directly nominated for the Music Awards of Nagaland 2021.

Photography Competition Winner

Keyi Putlang, who won the Photography Competiton got a prize money of Rs5000.

This year, despite the ongoing pandemic, the society decided not to disappoint their young Artists who are yet to be discovered. The Act of Kindness Society looks forward to creative/ innovative/wandering minds; every form of Art is an expression that needs to be nurtured and allowed to grow with freedom.
