CHANDIGARH: Veteran actor Satish Kaul who appeared in a number of Hindi films and television shows, including BR Chopra's Mahabharat, died today morning after a fight with Covid-19 in Ludhiana.

He was 66 years old at the time of his demise.

The Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh aided the actor with Rs 5 lakh in 2019.

Kaul moved to Punjab from Mumbai in 2011 and opened an acting school, which failed miserably.

In May of last year, the actor requested financial assistance from the film industry because he was unable to meet his basic needs due to the lockdown.

According to sources he was sick with a fever and wasn't feeling well. On Thursday, he got admitted to the hospital and it was later confirmed that he had COVID-19.

He was mostly known for his work in Punjabi films. He appeared in over 300 films, including 85 feature films in which he played the lead role.

Karma, Prem Parbat, Warrant, Gunaho Ka Faisla, Bhakti Me Shakti, Dance Dance, Ram Lakhan, and Pyar To Hona Hi Tha are some of his Bollywood films.

In BR Chopra's Mahabharat show, he played Lord Indra.
