ODISHA: A man in Odisha reportedly inserted a liquor bottle into his wife's private parts after she refused to get into prostitution.
The accused has been identified as Chandan Acharya, who is a rickshaw driver and lives in a rented house in Padmavati Vihar under Chandrasekharpur police limits in Odisha with his wife and their 5-year-old daughter.
The victim had married Chandan Acharya 10 years ago.
According to reports, the woman filed a complaint against her husband in the Chandrasekharpur police station that she was forced to get into prostitution at night for the sake of money.
It has been said that Chandan was running the racket from home.
The incident took place five days ago when the woman opposed her husband's decision and refused to be a part of his racket.
On the day the incident took place, in the evening, the accused returned home drunk and beat the woman with an iron rod. He then inserted a liquor bottle into her private parts, following which she fell unconscious.
The incident comes to light after the victim narrated her ordeal to her mother, who then informed the police immediately.
The woman told the police that she was being forced to get into prostitution for the last seven years after three years of their marriage.
Besides that, her husband also used to beat her whenever she turned down his demand.
A team of Chandrasekharpur police, however, rescued the victim along with her five-year-old daughter from a locked room.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) by the police.
