Manipur district sets up 5 check posts to monitor illegal immigrants entry

Imphal (Manipur), 4 Aug 2018

Tengnoupal Superintendent of Police (SP) has ordered setting up of five check posts to monitor entry and presence of any illegal immigrants, besides creating awareness among the public to counter the situation post publication of the complete draft of National Register of Citizens in Assam.

The five check posts are i) Kondong Lairembi, Moreh, ii) Gate no. 2 to Muslim Basti, Moreh ward no. 5, iii) Gate no. 2 to Friendship Bridge, Moreh, iv) Tengnoupal Police Station check post and v) another one under jurisdiction of Machi police station.

The SP also ordered reporting of daily activities in general diaries of respective police stations without any failure.
