TENGNOUPAL: A troop of Assam Rifles has seized drugs worth over Rs 500 crore in Moreh town of Manipur and apprehended one Myanmar National.
On receiving inputs from reliable sources, the combined team of Tengnoupal Police and 43 AR apprehended one Myanmar national with 220 soap cases of suspected heroin and upon his revelation, a warehouse was raided and seized 3716 soap cases of suspected heroin and 152 packets of suspected crystal meth (methamphetamine) drugs.
Informing about the biggest seizure, Manipur Chief Minister N.Biren Singh wrote, “Marvellous achievement by Tengnoupal Police and 43 Assam Rifles on seizing huge quantity of illegal narcotics substances worth Rs 500 Crore from a specific warehouse in Moreh.”
“This is one of the biggest seizure of drugs under the ‘War on Drugs’ initiative of the State Govt,” he further wrote.
According to reports, The house belongs to a woman who is suspected to be in Mandalay in Myanmar and is married to a Chinese national.
