Education Minister Shri Thokchom Radheshyam today inaugurated the Computer Block and Toilet Complex of Moreh College, Moreh. He said that good classrooms, proper sanitation facility, common rooms and canteens are main criteria to obtain National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Accreditation.
He expressed that having National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Accreditation is a must to get financial assistance from the central government the colleges. For advancement and development of Moreh College NAAC Accreditation is a necessity. The Minister was speaking as Chief Guest at the Inauguration function of the Computer Block & Toilet Complex of Moreh College.
The Minister asserted that for the students passing the HSLC exam and the Higher Secondary Examinations, the Moreh College is like a boon for them to pursue further studies. He said the proposal by the people of Moreh and faculty for the conversion of Moreh College to fully fledged Government College is a rightful demand.
Assuring the people that the proposal is already in the pipeline, the Minister expressed hoped that once the college is converted into a fully fledged Government college the faculty and public will be motivated and dedicated themselves in bringing a quality education and in maintaining the standard of the college.
Appreciating the communities’ leader for their tireless effort in the establishment of the college and giving the young students of Moreh town and surrounding villages the institution, he said it has been one of the main centres for pursuing higher studies. He asserted that every educational field or discipline should be made in accordance to the demand and of the market.
Th. Radheshyam stressed that in this fast changing world there is a need to let the young minds become more innovative, creative and optimistic. He said to inculcate such quality in youths Higher Education is very essential.
He also inspected Block Institutes of Teachers Education (BITE) of Tengnoupal District was also inspected. He said to become a teacher, teachers’ training is compulsory like other technical professions. He appealed all the communities’ leader to extend a little more extra effort to bring a positive change. The programme was attended by the MLA 42 Tengnoupal A/C Shri D. K. Korungthang, MLA, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa A/C Shri Soibam Subashchandra, ADC members, community leaders, concern officials, teacher and students.
