Manipur: Former Deputy CM L Chandramani Singh Passes Away at 86

Imphal, April 5, 2020:

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, L Chandramani Singh has passed away at the age of 86.

He breathed his last late on Sunday night at a Hospital in the State capital, Imphal. According to reports, the former Deputy CM had experienced a stroke, after which, his health deteriorated.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Sunday paid his respects to the deceased leader. "Saddened by the sudden demise of former Dy.CM of Manipur and veteran politician Dr. L Chandramani Singh. It is a great loss to the State and the Nation. May his soul rest in peace in the Heavenly abode. I share the grief of the bereaved family," he tweeted.

L Chandramani Singh had served the people of Manipur as the Deputy Chief Minister twice. After joining politics in 1972, Singh also served as the Speaker and Minister.

He also served as the president of Manipur People’s Party and also served as Office Bearers of Congress and Manipur State Congress Party. He also has three books to his credit.
