Medilane Health Tech and Consulting Services based out of capital city Imphal in Manipur is trying to solve the issue of unavailability of ambulances and medical care at home.
Every second patient suffering from a heart attack in India takes more than 400 minutes to reach a hospital, a 2017 report by the Indian Council of Medical Research state, which is 13 times more than the ideal time. In fact, the situation is worse in the hills with its rocky terrains.
The unavailability of quick medical solutions prompted Dayananda (28) and Thiyam Pinkey (27) from the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal to start the venture.
Medilane provides on-demand healthcare services, focusing mostly on affordable home healthcare and medical transport services. The company was incorporated on June 14, 2017, and is currently operational in Manipur and Assam.
Medilane provides round-the-clock emergency and non-emergency ambulances and mortuary van services, and provides prompt service to patients who are took sick to visit the hospital themselves.
Growing by leaps and bounds, the organization now owns 11 ambulances – eight basic life support (BLS) ambulances and three advanced life support (ALS) ones and charges different fees for each service.
