The 21-year-old Mister Manipur (India), Vikas Usham, a 5'11' tall commercial model was crowned as the 'Mister National Universe 2019' following the conclusion of one of the most exciting male pageants at the grand ballroom of Holiday Inn Vana Nava in Hua Hin, Thailand on July 1.
Following this incredible achievement, the Engineering student Vikas has said “I have never ever dreamt that I would gain something so momentous in my life. I therefore show my gratitude towards my country, and especially to my state of Manipur for bagging the Mister National Universe, which I consider to be the biggest achievement in my life thus far."
It is worth mentioning that in March, he bagged 'Beach body' title in the male category at the Body Power Beach Carnival in Goa.
In response to a question about his future projects, he says, “Being the Mister National Universe Winner, I would be visiting different countries judging beauty pageant shows and would be looking forward to co-operate with other countries and organisations in promoting beauty pageants."
On July 1, Nepal's Kaushik Prasai, the winner from last year, assisted with the crowning of the new winner.
The new king Vikas Usham has revealed that cooking and travelling are his hobbies.
This is the 3rd edition of the pageant, and is the second time that India has won the title with Pankaj Ahlawat emerging as its first ever titleholder in 2017.
On July 19, Vikas Usham called on Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh at CM's Secretariat.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who haD also started his career as an athlete, expressed his happiness for the capturing of an international title by a Manipuri lad and said, “My government has opened the door for the welfare of those who have excelled in the national and international sporting events.”
