Meghalaya cabinet on Monday approved Meghalaya Startup Policy 2018 to help young and talented entrepreneurs of the State.
The cabinet also approved the amendment of Meghalaya Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education 2011.
The cabinet has approved the proposed draft rules of the Meghalaya Community Participation and Public Services Social Audit Services Rules 2017.
The cabinet through the Programme Implementation Department decided to aggressively implement further systematic review of departments in every district. The cabinet also decided to have one minister in every district for one year to have systematic departmental review meetings with the district heads.
Proposal on solid waste management by Urban Affairs department- Solid Waste Management Policy was also approved by the cabinet which will come into force immediately.
The cabinet meeting also approved the draft Meghalaya State Sports Policy 2018 after fine-tuning all aspects of the policy.
The objective of the Meghalaya State Sports Policy 2018:
Integrate youth development into the development agenda, policies, and programmes of the State at different levels. Ensure effective and meaningful participation of youth in the process of formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of policies and programmes that impact their life. Foster in young people an abiding commitment to the principles and values enshrined in the Constitution of the country and also a spirit of community service.
