Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on February 1 called on his Nagaland counterpart, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, at the Chief Minister's New bungalow in the state capital Kohima.
Rio, taking to Twitter to inform about his Meghalaya counterpart's visit, wrote, "honourable Chief Minister of Meghalaya called on me. My best wishes to him as he continues to serve the people, with passion and dedication, for the betterment of all sections of people."

Sangma too took to social media to upload several pictures of him interacting with his Nagaland counterpart Paid a courtesy visit to Shri Neiphiu Rio ji, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Nagaland at his residence in New CM Bungalow, Kohima. I thank him for his warm reception and generosity. I look forward to my time in Nagaland."
Later, the Meghalaya Chief Minister, who is also the President of the National People's Party (NPP), a key regional player in the Northeast, later met NPP party members from Nagaland. "Meeting with NPP leaders in Kohima where I was warmly received yet again. The opportunity to interact and review allows us to further strengthen our bond to fulfill our collective mission for our people", Rio later wrote.
